Wheel of Fortune

turning fortune

What it means

The Wheel of Fortune is the card of cycles and turning points. It stands for luck, timing and the simple truth that nothing stays the same: good seasons pass, and so do hard ones. You cannot always control where the wheel stops, but you can choose how you meet each turn. The card invites you to notice the pattern and move with it rather than against it.

The picture

A great wheel marked with letters floats in the sky, a sphinx on top, a snake down one side, and winged creatures on clouds in the four corners. Whatever rides the wheel rises and falls as it turns, while the watchers in the corners hold their places.

Upright

Upright, the Wheel of Fortune suggests a turning point. Something may be shifting in your favour: an opportunity, a lucky break, or a change of circumstances that opens a door. If things have been hard, this card is a reminder that what was down can come up again. It also asks you to notice the patterns that repeat in your life and what they are trying to teach you. Stay flexible, and be ready to say yes when the timing lines up.

Reversed

Reversed, the Wheel of Fortune can point to a run of bad luck, or a cycle that keeps repeating in ways you do not like. It may also show resistance to change, or clinging to how things were after the wheel has already turned. The card asks what is in your hands and what is not. Focus on how you respond rather than on what you cannot control, and look for the lesson in the pattern so you do not have to repeat it.

Love

If you are single, the Wheel suggests timing may be shifting, and a chance meeting could matter. In a relationship, it points to a new phase. Notice the old patterns you keep repeating together, and welcome change instead of holding on to how things were.

Work

At work or in study, the Wheel can mark an unexpected change, a new opportunity or a turn in your circumstances. Stay adaptable, be ready to act when the moment comes, and remember that slow periods pass too.

Money

With money, the Wheel points to ups and downs. Good fortune may arrive, but do not treat it as permanent. Keep a cushion for leaner times and avoid betting on luck; steady habits help you ride every turn.

As a yes or no

Yes, leaning toward change in your favour, though the timing is not fully yours.

A question to sit with
